Jason Knox, of Dempseytown, volunteers with his friends from The Pointe to clean up along Seneca Street Wednesday during the Oil City Main Street Program’s community clean-up day. Main Street manager Kathy Bailey said the organization wanted to revive the former Wash Day in Oil City that at one time was a huge effort among downtown business owners, employees and volunteers who would spruce up the city. The effort had fallen off in recent years, but Bailey said nearly 25 businesses or civic organizations signed up to work either Wednesday or a day in the near future. (By Richard Sayer)
