Photos being accepted for Marienville contest

From staff reports

Photographs are being accepted for the annual photography contest sponsored by the Friends of the Marienville Area Library.

Submissions may be made at the library until Jan. 22.

This year’s contest has categories for unedited photographs by amateur student and adult photographers as well as separate categories for professional photographers and edited photographs.

Ribbons will be awarded for first through third place in every category. First place winners in the amateur unedited categories will be entered for cash prizes in the Best in Show competition.

Judging will take place Jan. 24. Pictures will be on display at the library from Winterfest through Feb. 10.

All pictures must have been taken in Forest County in the last three years.

Pictures will be entered in either the Nature or Forest County Landmarks, People and Events divisions. Submitted photographs are to be unmounted and 8 by 10 inches. There is a $5 entry fee for each photograph submitted.

A complete list of the rules and entry forms are available at the library. The photographs will become the property of the Friends of the Marienville Area Library.
