Oil Creek Titusville Lines receives $140,000 grant

From staff reports

Oil Creek Titusville Lines Inc. received a $140,000 grant for rail freight improvements, according to a joint news release from state Reps. R. Lee James and Kathy Rapp.

The grant will improve operations by extending a passing siding by 1,000 feet, the release said.

“I was excited to see that Oil Creek Titusville Lines received this funding – good for them,” James said. “It’s positive that the funding will be used to improve operations at a time when supply chains have been disrupted not just in northwestern Pennsylvania but all over the country.”

Rapp said rail transportation is an “extremely important segment driving Pennsylvania’s economic stability and expansion. The demand for Pennsylvania’s homegrown crude oil is also on the rise and these infrastructure improvements will allow the Oil Creek Titusville Lines to better meet future demand.”

The State Transportation Commission voted to approve 26 rail freight projects across the state through the Rail Transportation Assistance Program and the Rail Freight Assistance Program, the release said. The projects will create or sustain more than 200 jobs across the state.
