Oil City School Board approves new procedures

The Oil City School Board, during a special meeting on Wednesday evening, approved a revised school schedule for Oct. 21 through Dec. 23 -providing early dismissal for students on Wednesdays -and gathering limits at school facilities.

Students will be dismissed two hours early on Wednesdays to give teachers time to prep for and grade for classes they are teaching virtually in addition to the in-person classes they are teaching, board President Joe McFadden said.

Mark Kerr said a school board committee will address the matter in more detail in the coming weeks, but the panel needed to first address it in the school board meeting.
