Oil City police looking into ‘hateful’ graffiti

The message, which police chief Bob Wenner called “hateful”, is spray-painted on plastic on the outside of the home that is in proximity to the Oil City YMCA Daycare facility.

Wenner said the department is aware of the message and is looking into the issue. The message contains at least one expletive and appears to reference religion. Words such as “pigs” and evil fakes” are used.

Luckily, the daycare does not have any windows that are directed toward the graffiti message and youngsters are not out on the playground at this time of year to see it, said Tom Spence, the Oil City YMCA executive director.

“We really don’t feel that it is directed to us,” Spence said.
