Oil City man, Franklin woman accused of forgery

An Oil City man and Franklin woman face forgery and theft charges after being accused of using counterfeit $100 bills at two stores.

Franklin state police said in three criminal complaints filed Friday that Billie Sanner IV, 28, of Oil City, gave Casey Green, 38, of Franklin, a fake $100 bill to use at the Goodwill at 17 Kimberly Lane, Cranberry Township.

Police said a Goodwill employee refused the money and called police as Sanner and Green fled the store on Aug. 26, according to the complaint.

Police said as they were investigating the incident, they found Sanner had successfully passed a different fake $100 bill at Spanky’s Tobacco World at 1719 Riverside Drive, Cranberry Township, according to the complaint. Police said Sanner received $68.87 worth of items and $31.13 in change from the Oct. 6 incident.

Overall, Sanner has been charged with two felony counts of forgery — unauthorized act in writing, two misdemeanor counts of theft by deception — false impression, and a misdemeanor count of conspiracy — theft by deception — false impression.

Green has been charged with a felony count of forgery — unauthorized act in writing, and misdemeanor counts of theft by deception — false impression, and conspiracy — theft by deception — false impression.

As of Monday, Sanner and Green were awaiting their preliminary hearings.
