Oil City man facing drug delivery charge

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing a drug delivery charge in connection with a traffic stop Monday in Sugarcreek Borough.

Sugarcreek police said in a criminal complaint they pulled over a vehicle with a broken taillight Monday night in the area of Rocky Grove Avenue.

Police said the driver, Cory Prindle, 35, handed police his conceal carry permit but said he didn’t have his drivers license and when police asked him if he had any firearms on him he told them he didn’t remember, the complaint said.

Police noted that Prindle kept making movements toward the center console of the car, the complaint said. They also noted he showed multiple signs of impairment, according to the complaint.

Prindle had a suspended license and was arrested for outstanding warrants, the complaint said.

Police found a loaded pistol magazine in the center console, and officers also found a loaded pistol and Alprazolam pills and pieces of pills in other parts of the vehicle, the complaint said. Pieces of pills is indicative of the sale and distribution of drugs, according to the complaint.

In addition, police found $4,000 separated into $1,000 increments bundled together with rubber bands as well as $194 in loose cash, the complaint said.

Prindle was charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, a misdemeanor DUI count and two summary traffic violations.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
