OC’s Music on the Square returns this week

From staff reports

Oil City Main Street Program has announced the return of its Music on the Square summer outdoor concert series.

The first concert, scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oil City’s Town Square, will feature Billy & The Neptunes.

There is no admission fee for the concert. Those who attend should take a chair or blanket for seating.

Billy & the Neptunes is a rockabilly/oldies/doo-wop band doing the classic rock and roll songs of the 1950s and early ’60s, along with retro-modern songs and re-stylized classics.

“While we want everyone to come out and enjoy some live music in an outdoor setting, the safety of everyone attending is of primary concern,” Main Streer manager Kathy Bailey said. “We ask that all who come to enjoy the music practice appropriate social distancing and we encourage everyone to wear face masks if they will be in close proximity with others,” Bailey added.

Music on the Square was spearheaded by the Oil City Main Street Program in 2015.

Concerts are supported by the Jack Rowley Charitable Trust.

More information about the concert series is available by calling (814) 677-3152, Ext. 104.
