Oil City police are conducting an ongoing investigation into the attempted luring of children into a vehicle.
Police said they received a report Sept. 16 from several children ranging in age from 10 to 14 who said that a man tried to get them into a vehicle at the intersection of East Second Street and Wilson Avenue during the last week in August.
The children described the man as middle aged, white and with gray hair. They also said he had a taller, slender build and was wearing glasses.
He was driving a dark colored SUV, the children told police.
Police said the man continued to try and force the children into the vehicle even after they said no. The children told police he eventually drove away.
Police are requesting assistance from the community and are asking anyone with information to call them at 678-3080.
