OC police compiling camera system locations

The Oil City Police Department is seeking assistance from Oil City residents and businesses to compile a list of locations where home camera systems or other video recording systems are located in the city.

The department is putting together a book recording where all the home cameras, doorbell cameras or other home or business video recording camera systems are located in the city, Oil City police said in a news release.

“This will assist in locating, identifying and convicting suspects who commit crimes within the City of Oil City,” the release said.

The book will include the camera locations, name of the resident and a phone number, the release said.

“All information will be kept confidential and will only be viewed and used by authorized personnel. This information will not be made available to the public,” the release said.

To provide information about the location of a camera to the police department, police ask that people contact patrolman Brandon Rosenberger at (814) 678-3080 or by email at brosenberger@oilcity.org.
