OC man struck by vehicle on Colbert Ave.

A 28-year-old Oil City man was flown to an Erie hospital early Tuesday after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along Colbert Avenue.

Oil City police said the driver and vehicle that struck the man just after 1 a.m. have been identified, but police aren’t releasing that information at this time.

The victim was treated at the scene by Oil City firefighters and Community Ambulance Service personnel before being transported by Stat MedEvac helicopter to UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Oil City police chief Bob Wenner said Tuesday evening the man underwent surgery and was in critical condition.

The investigation into the accident is continuing, police said.
