OC man charged in two sexual harassment cases

Multiple charges have been filed against an Oil City man who police say sexually harassed two women in separate incidents.

George Ford, 72, of 1 Sycamore St., is facing the charges in connection with the incidents last month at Ford’s apartment in the Luther Place complex.

Oil City police Lt. Steve Hamilton said a woman told him during an interview May 10 that Ford had grabbed her buttocks and her leg area without warning to try to get her into his bedroom about a month earlier, according to a criminal complaint filed with district judge Andrew Fish. The woman cried out loud enough that it was heard by one of the other neighbors, the complaint said.

Ford was charged with indecent assault, indecent exposure and harassment in that case.

In the other incident, Hamilton said another woman told him during an interview on April 29 that Ford exposed himself to her on two occasions when she visited his apartment, according to another criminal complaint.

The woman also played 33 messages during the interview which she had received from Ford, the complaint said. Ford asks for specific sexual acts in several of the messages, the complaint said.

Preliminary hearings in both cases are scheduled June 15 in Venango County Central Court.
