OC man charged for ramming truck into auto service building

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing charges for using a pickup truck to gain access to Creekside Auto Service on Seneca Street earlier this month.

Oil City police said Robert Wayne Chrispen, 33, was captured on the business’ surveillance footage ramming through the garage door of the building with a pickup truck that had been in the parking lot at about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 9.

Once inside the building, Chrispen spent several hours trying to start and remove a Ford Mustang that had been stored inside the building, police said.

Chrispen is then seen in the footage leaving the building and heading north on North Seneca Street, police said.

Chrispen was charged with single felony counts of burglary-not adapted for overnight accommodation, no person present and criminal trespass-break into structure, two felony counts of theft by unlawful taking of movable property, single misdemeanor counts of theft from a motor vehicle and possessing an instrument of crime with intent, and two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief-damage property.

He was arraigned before district judge Patrick Lowrey, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.

Chrispen remains lodged in the Venango County jail after failing to post $50,000 bail.
