OC man accused of choking woman

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing strangulation and terroristic threats charges for lashing out at a woman at their East Seventh Street home Tuesday.

Oil City police said in a criminal complaint that Dylan Thomas Brown, 27, was arguing with the woman when he “charged at her” and backed her into a corner of the home.

Police said Brown choked her on three separate occasions Tuesday, once with his hands and twice by putting his arms around the woman’s neck.

The woman told officers that when Brown would stop choking her, he would tell her he was going to kill her, police said.

Police said they returned to the home with the woman at about 3 a.m. Wednesday to check if Brown had returned. While canvassing the home, police said they found an orange bucket containing “multiple” marijuana plants and glass smoking pipes with marijuana residue.

The woman told police the paraphernalia belonged to Brown and that he used the attic to smoke, police said. Police seized all items for evidence.

Brown was charged with three felony counts of strangulation, single counts of simple assault and terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, seven counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and single counts of possession of a controlled substance and harassment.
