OC man accused of assaulting woman in vehicle

An Oil City man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a woman in his vehicle Friday.

Police said Jason Blauser, Sr., 41, of Oil City was arrested after they arrived to a residence on East Second Street after receiving a report of domestic assault around 9 p.m.

Upon their arrival, police said they made contact with Blauser and a woman who told officers that Blauser had grabber her by the hair and struck her head off of his vehicle’s dashboard multiple times.

According to police, the woman stated that as she attempted to exit the vehicle, Blauser once again restrained her by the hair, the assault continued when the two arrived at Blauser’s residence where he allegedly told the woman she would be lucky to leave alive.

The woman was able to send out a message to a family member who then contacted police.

Police said before they arrived on scene, Blauser strangled the woman with his hands which left red marks on her neck that were visible to police when they arrived.

Blauser has been charged with a felony count of strangulation and misdemeanor counts of unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, obstructing administration of law or other governmental function, resisting arrest and harassment.

Blauser was denied bail and has been lodged in the Venango County jail and will face a preliminary hearing on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
