OC man accused of assaulting woman in car

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing several charges for assaulting a woman in a car near a business on Riverside Drive.

Franklin state police said Cy Gaines-Colon, 45, made unwanted physical and verbal contact with a woman and locked her inside his vehicle on Nov. 23.

A criminal complaint says that a state trooper was conducting a traffic stop when an employee of Minich’s Towing approached him to say that a woman had run into the garage shaking and crying.

The woman told the Minich’s employee that she had accepted a ride from Gaines-Colon, who then made unwanted advances toward her. When he left the vehicle to go into Skinny’s Six Pack Shack, she said she realized that she was unable to open the car doors.

The woman ran to Minich’s after she was able to find a button on the dash that unlocked the car, the complaint said.

Gaines-Colon has been charged with unlawful restraint, indecent assault and harassment.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled Jan. 16 in Venango County Central Court.
