OC man accused of assault waives hearing

An Oil City man accused of assaulting a woman while she held two children waived his hearing Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.

Michael Scott Zaccaria, 34, is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of children – parent/guardian/other commits offense and harassment.

Oil City police were dispatched at 3:40 p.m. March 13 to Clearfield Street after a domestic dispute was reported. Police were told that Zaccaria had punched a woman and pushed her to the ground, striking her again as she held two children.

Zaccaria was arraigned before district judge Matthew Kirtland and placed in the Venango County jail on $85,000 bail.

The case is being prosecuted by assistant district attorney Brenda Servidio, and Zaccaria is being represented by attorney Neil Rothschild.
