OC firefighters respond to residential fire

The Oil City Fire Department responded to a residential fire on Graff Street in Oil City late Saturday night.

Firefighters were dispatched at 11:50 p.m. and discovered that the fire had started in the basement of the residence.

According to the Oil City Fire Department, the house had six occupants and four dogs all of whom made it out safely.

Local firefighters were assisted at the scene of the fire by Oil City police and Senca Fire Department’s rapid intervention team. Community Ambulance was on standby but there were no injuries reported.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the Oil City Fire Department said that the house had not suffered any significant damages from it.
