NWS issues Lake Effect Snow Warning

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING has been issued from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 1 p.m. Wednesday for Venango, Forest and Clarion Counties, including the cities of Oil City, Franklin, Tionesta and Clarion, according to The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

Heavy lake effect snow is expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 12 inches, are expected. Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.

A Lake Effect Snow Warning means significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
