With several weather forecasting services predicting a high likelihood for severe thunderstorms today, the U.S. Forest Service is postponing the National Get Outdoors Day activities scheduled at Beaver Meadows Day Use Area in the Allegheny National Forest near Marienville.
This free family event featuring kayaking, hiking, and fishing, as well as lessons in campfire building, has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 18, and will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Beaver Meadows Day Use Area is located approximately five miles north of Marienville on Beaver Meadows Road, Township Road 358.
