Man waives hearing on rape, other charges

From staff reports

An Erie man accused of rape and other charges waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.

Dyquan Bailey, 20, is accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Oil City in May.

Sugarcreek Borough police said Bailey and the girl communicated by social media, and then he came to her house to pick her up. The girl said she wanted to go to a party in Fern Court in Oil City, police said.

After stopping in a church parking lot, Bailey got into the back seat with the girl, according to a criminal complaint filed by police. When she tried to leave the vehicle, Bailey forced himself on her, becoming so rough the braces in her mouth broke, the complaint said.

Bailey then told the girl to get out of the vehicle, according to the complaint.

Bailey is facing six felony charges, including rape and statutory sexual assault, as well as three misdemeanor charges of indecent assault.
