Man tries to pressure youths to drink alcohol at McDonald’s

An adult male repeatedly attempted to pressure two juveniles into drinking with him Saturday night at McDonald’s in Franklin, said Franklin police.

James Leroy Denny, 32, of Franklin, asked two juveniles to drink with him and when they declined he pulled out a bottle of alcohol and asked them again.

Police were dispatched to the scene on reports of Denny attempting to coerce minors.

Denny was in the restaurant yelling and swearing and causing a distubance, police said.

He was arraigned before District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland on two charges of corruption of minors, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Denny was released after posting $15,000 bail.
