Man facing charges for selling meth

From staff reports

A Cooperstown man is facing charges for allegedly selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant in May 2017.

A criminal complaint filed through district judge Matthew Kirtland’s office said Franklin police, in conjunction with Attorney General Drug Task Force agents, conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine between Ian Haux, 31, and a confidential informant.

The drug sale was set up via phone calls and text messages, and police and task force agents observed the buy at an undisclosed location, the complaint said.

Haux is facing felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility and manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, in addition to misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has been lodged in the Venango County jail since April for two separate cases involving possession of drugs and a stolen firearm.

A preliminary hearing in the new case is tentatively scheduled Wednesday in Central Court.
