Man facing charges after incident at club

A Franklin man is facing charges for threatening to shoot people at the Franklin Moose Club on Tuesday.

Franklin police said in a criminal complaint they responded to the Moose parking lot at about 10 p.m. Tuesday where they found Ian Kazimer, 37, who was “highly intoxicated” and holding a holstered handgun while standing beside his vehicle.

Police determined after talking to witnesses that Kazimer had gotten into an argument with a man while shooting pool at the club, the complaint said. Kazimer then spoke on the phone to someone and loudly said multiple times that he had a gun, the complaint said.

He was then asked to leave and was escorted out of the club following more arguing, the complaint said.

Another man followed Kazimer outside to convince him not to drive, and Kazimer punched the man in the face with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground and injuring him, the complaint said. Kazimer then retrieved a loaded handgun from under the front seat of his car and tried to put it in his coat pocket before trying to put it back under the passenger seat of his vehicle, at which time police arrived and took him into custody, the complaint said.

Kazimer was charged with misdemeanor counts of firearm not to be carried without a license-no criminal violation, simple assault and disorderly conduct and a summary count of public drunkenness.

He was placed in the Venango County jail and bail was denied.

Kazimer’s preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov.18 in Central Court.
