From staff reports

A Cochranton man accused of killing his stepmother and 10-year-old half-brother has a new attorney.

Jack Turner, 21, who has been charged with killing Shannon Whitman, 49, and her son, Darrin Whitman, on Aug. 10. in their Guys Mills home, has hired Michael Waltman, a Pittsburgh attorney, to represent him.

Turner’s previous attorney was Fred Hummel of Punxsutawney.

A hearing was held Wednesday in Crawford County court before Judge Mark Stevens to make the proper transfer of information about the case from Hummel to Waltman, said Andrew Natalo, assistant district attorney in Crawford County.
