Man charged in connection with nude video

From staff reports

A Cooperstown man is facing felony charges in relation to a video police say he recorded of a “minor child in a state of nudity.”

Sugarcreek Borough police say Jeffrey Ray Storm Jr., 37, intentionally recorded the video of the 12-to-13-year-old on or around April 1, 2018 at a Wiley Avenue residence.

Storm then recently contacted the child again via text message and said he would like to have sex with the child, police said in a criminal complaint filed Thursday.

Police said Storm also “showed nude photos” to the child.

Police said Storm has a connection to the child’s family and “knew or should have known” how old the child was at the time he recorded the video and when contacted the child more recently.

Storm has been charged with six felony counts of sexual exploitation of children, contact/communication with a minor-sexual abuse, photograph/film/depict on computer sex act- knowingly or permitting child, child pornography, criminal use of a communication facility and corruption of minors-defendant 18 or above.

He was arraigned Friday before district judge Patrick Lowrey, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
