Love comes in packages small and large

Area animal shelters and rescues have many furry packages of love all wrapped up and ready for caring homes.

A package deal

Precious Paws Animal Rescue in Franklin has Buddy (gray) and Murphy (tan and white) who are looking for a home.

“Here we have a package deal, a package of pure love! Two Shih Tzus are looking for a home together,” the rescue said in a Petfinder posting.

“They are 6 and 9 and had been left alone for several weeks after their owners had to leave the residence (one medical, the other incarceration). They feel so much better now that they are cleaned up after a good grooming,” the post continued.

Both boys are neutered and housebroken.

“The foster home loves them and reports that they are fine with other dogs, and are kinda scared of their fat cats. These guys are total lap dogs,” the rescue said in the post. “They are a bonded pair, so we are keeping them together and not considering separating at this time.”

Both dogs are vaccinated, tested for heartworm and Lyme disease.

Meet-n-greet

Precious Paws will also be at Tractor Supply in Cranberry from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 3, with some adoptable dogs and cats. Petunia is one of those scheduled to be there on Saturday.

“Knoxy is doing very well in foster (care). His eye has healed up from being removed, his hair is starting to grow back, and he is gaining weight. He gets a recheck to see how his glucose levels are this week,” the rescue posted on its Facebook page.

“He loves other cats and dogs. He hangs out with his dog friends all the time. If you, or anyone you know, is looking for a super sweet and lovable special needs friend Knoxy is your guy,” the post said.

Nova

Nova

Nova was dumped at a cabin in Cook Forest.

“Luckily she found some good Samaritans who called us. When one of our volunteers pulled up to the cabin she came running,” the rescue posted on Facebook.

“She is clearly used to living inside. The gorgeous girl is, not so, patiently waiting to find her true ‘furrever’ home,” the post continued.

Clarion PAWS is located at 11348 Route 322, Shippenville, Clarion River Hill, between Scrap Happy and Clarion Electric. The adoption center is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The center is closed Fridays and Sundays.

Spot

Spot

Spot, a domestic short hair, is an 8-month-old neutered male. He has a black and white coat, yellow eyes and white whiskers.

“He’s a friendly, talkative charmer. The staff (says) that Spot drools when he’s happy, and he’s not shy about posing for the camera. (He is) very adaptable and requires little specialized care,” the shelter said in a Petfinder listing.

The shelter’s hours are from noon to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. It is closed Sundays and holidays.

The humane society is located at 286 S. Main St., Seneca.

Me and my Shadow

Tri-County Animal Rescue Center in Shippenville has German shepherd Shadow available for adoption.

Shadow

Shadow

The center in a posting on its website recommended that Shadow would be a good fit for experienced German shepherd lovers.

“Shadow is a handsome, intelligent, 2 and a half year old, pure bred German shepherd whose idea of fun goes like this: from across the yard, you offer him a ball, his eyes lock on the target as he runs like the wind straight at you; moments before nearly bowling you over, he slides and skids to a shrieking stop, then sits for the ball, making you marvel at his youthful pizazz and athleticism,” the center said in a post on its website.

“Shadow, a recent surrender, was well cared for. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots, and house broken but he was left out in the yard for long hours every day while his people went to school and work; hungry for companionship, Shadow grew protective of his food,” the post said.

“Shadow is still hungry for companionship and now he needs a loving, dedicated leader to help him bloom into the magnificent dog he is meant to be. Shadow will do best in a home with no small children or pets,” the post continued.

Meanwhile the rescue will hold its annual Hoppy Easter Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Clarion Tractor Supply.

More information about the center is available by contacting Tri-County Animal Rescue Center on Facebook, calling (814) 918-2032, or emailing contactus@Tricounty-arc.org
