Lots going on this year at Two Mile Run County Park

Two Mile Run County Park is in for a busy 2019 season.

“There are a lot of events at the park this year,” park director Rich Mihalic said at Tuesday’s Venango County commissioners meeting.

The 2,695-acre public park at 471 Beach Road near Franklin offers a 144-acre lake and 38 miles of trails. It also provides 14 pavilions, a cottage, farmhouse and campsites available for rental.

To date, the following events have been scheduled at the county park:

– April 13 to May 18 – Franklin YMCA programs are held in the park.

– April 27 – Mountain Bike Race at Pioneer Flats

– May 10 – Campgrounds open, weather permitting

– May 19 – Fundraiser at Lockwood (alternate date of Aug. 19)

– May 25 and 26 – Boat races on Justus Lake

– June 8 – PEC/Dice Ride at Lockwood

– June 8 – Crosby Beach opens, weather permitting

– June 14, 15 and 16 – Ohio Horse Council Trail Ride at Lockwood

– June 29 – Rock and Roll Ride at Lockwood

– July 12, 13 and 14 – International Bow Hunters Shoot at Pioneer Flats and surrounding area

– July 20 – Scavenger Trail Ride Hunt at Lockwood

– Aug. 3 and 4 – VARHA fundraiser at Lockwood

– Aug. 10 – Second Mountain bike race at Pioneer Flats

– Sept. 7 – Kayak event at Crosby Beach

– Sept. 14 – Monte Carlo Trail Ride at Lockwood

– Sept. 19 to 22 – PEC statewide ride at Lockwood

– Oct. 12 – Rocky Grove Cross Country invitational at Pioneer Flats.
