Local students celebrate Catholic Schools Week

Students at St. Stephen School in Oil City enjoyed a fun afternoon of dance Wednesday as part of the school’s Catholic Schools Week celebration. Students in every grade gathered in the gym to participate in several dances, including a limbo contest and line dances. Older students paired up with younger ones to help them with the dances and show them how fun it is to cut loose. St. Stephen students also heard a presentation Wednesday from Sr. Tina Geiger and Sr. Marian Wehler with Catholic Rural Ministries. The two nuns spoke about Pope Francis’ encyclical – “Care for Our Common Home.” Catholic Schools Week activities continued through Friday at St. Stephen along with St. Patrick in Franklin and Venango Catholic High School in Oil City.  (Photo by Richard Sayer)
