The City of Franklin street department will begin to pick up leaves in paper biodegradable bags on Friday.
Residents may put their filled leaf bags along their front yards near the street for pickup every Monday and Friday through leaf season.
Only paper biodegradable bags, which can be purchased at local stores, will be picked up. The bags will not be sold at city hall this year.
The city’s vacuum machine leaf pickup program will begin later in October with weekly schedules printed in the newspaper and on the city’s website at www.franklinpa.gov.
