Knox man sentenced for sexual assault of girl, 11

From staff reports

A Knox man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Monday by Venango County President Judge Oliver Lobaugh on charges related to the rape of an 11-year-old girl.

Jeremy Fosbaugh, 19, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of statutory sexual assault prior to the start of a scheduled two-day trial. Several other charges, including rape, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated assault and indecent assault, were dropped as part of the plea agreement.

He was sentenced to one to two years (less one day) in the Venango County jail followed by three years of probation. He is receiving credit for 188 days he had already served in jail.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred in January 2017 at the girl’s grandmother’s home in Richland Township, Venango County.

Fosbaugh was previously charged as a juvenile for molesting the same girl when she was five years old, according to a criminal complaint.
