Kahle Lake dam will benefit from funding

From staff reports

The Kahle Lake dam will benefit from a $43.5 million multi-year funding plan released by the state and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, state Sen. Scott Hutchinson and state Rep. Donna Oberlander announced Friday.

The lake, which is located in both Venango and Clarion counties and owned by the state, will be one of 10 dams to receive the funds, a press release from the lawmakers said.

In the release, Oberlander said the funds will be used for planning and engineering and will allow repairs to be done in a “more timely manner.”

“Kahle Lake is a local gem … it is my understanding the lake will remain open to anglers and boaters throughout the design and permitting process,” Hutchinson said.

A public meeting is being planned to update area residents about the project, the release said.
