Hunting, furtaker licenses available

Hunting and furtaker licenses are now being sold for the 2021-22 season.

Licenses may be purchased at the treasurer’s office in the Venango County Courthouse Annex at 1174 Elk St. in Franklin.

Antlerless deer license applications will be accepted by mail starting July 12. Applications can be mailed to the Venango County Treasurer’s Office, P.O. Box 708, Franklin.

License fees have increased by 7% this year and cost $6.97 for residents and $26.97 for nonresidents.

The treasurer’s office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

To qualify for a resident license, a person must have maintained a true, fixed permanent home and principal residence in Pennsylvania for at least 30 consecutive days immediately preceding application for a license.

Lifetime hunting licenses are also available in the treasurer’s office.
