High winds an all-day affair in Venango County

From staff reports

High winds wreaked havoc across Venango County Wednesday leaving trash cans and lighter yard ornaments in foreign yards and multiple trees down across roadways.

“There was about 14 downed trees,” a Venango County 911 dispatcher said Thursday.

The dispatcher said the destruction was an all-day affair with the emergency service’s first call coming in at 10 a.m. and the last at about 10 p.m.

Damage incurred was on the lighter side. Only one of the 14 recorded incidents took a utility pole with it, which left several households without power for a short amount of time.

Clarion County dispatchers said “only one or two” calls came in for wind damage throughout the day.
