Heavy rain causes some problems on area roads

According to Venango County 911, flooding was reported throughout the region following a downpour between 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday.

According to 911, the 400 block of Mercer Road in Franklin was closed and Pittsburgh Road, also in Franklin, was restricted to one lane.

The dispatcher said they received several reports of roads in Franklin that were flooded. The roads listed were Two Mile Run Road, Maplewood Drive, 15th Street and two sections of Allegheny Boulevard, though the specific locations could not be confirmed as of 9 p.m.

Additional flooding was also reported on Halyday and Dwyer streets in Oil City and in the 100 block of Main Street in Polk.
