Grove board approves final budget with no tax hike

The Valley Grove School Board unanimously approved the 2024-25 budget, maintaining the millage rate at 12.8437 and keeping taxes steady. The $16.93 million budget marks the first time since 2021-22 without a tax increase. The board also decided to move the district’s administrative offices to Valley Grove Elementary School, a process expected to take about a year. Additionally, the board approved a $63,046 insurance package, expanded cyber liability coverage, continued the Community Eligibility Program for free student meals, and set new meal prices. The district also received a Highmark Grant for the All Kids Bike program, anticipated to start by September.
