Grants awarded for park rehab projects

The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has awarded grants to municipalitites in Venango and Clarion counties for park rehabilitation projects.

Franklin was awarded $260,000 for work to be done at the Miller-Sibley Park. The work includes renovation of a parking area, pedestrian walkways, basketball and tennis courts, installation of lighting and fencing, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.

Emlenton Borough will receive $70,400 for the rehabilitation of Hughes Park.

The project includes renovation of a comfort station, construction of a parking area and pedestrian walkways, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.

Clarion County was awarded $192,800 for improvements to Clarion County Park in Paint Township. The project includes construction of a pavilion, installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing and fencing, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.
