Friendly furry faces

Area animal rescues and shelters have many, many friendly furry faces looking for love and homes.

You’ll relish this one (and more)

Venango County Humane Society in Seneca has kittens Relish and Cheese Puff available for adoption.

The humane society also posted on its Facebook page about a change in hours.

“Beginning TUESDAY, JULY 11, and every TUESDAY for the months of JULY and AUGUST, the shelter will be open until 7 p.m.,” the post said.

The shelters hours will be from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through August.

He’s a player

Clarion PAWS in Shippenville posted earlier this week on its Facebook pages about Tyler. It also posted about shy guy Mario.

Tyler

Tyler

“Tyler loves to play. He even convinces the cats next door to play. He can be seen inviting you into his room as soon as you walk into the PAWS house,” the rescue posted on Facebook.

“He is a little over a year so he still has lots of kitten energy. When he isn’t playing he is trying to climb in your lap for as much love as he can soak up,” the post continued.

Mario

Mario

“Mario is the only one left from our 2015 4th Avenue relocation project. He is a shy boy that wants love,” the rescue posted.

“Right now he lives with some of our younger residents and he keeps up with them. He does have some scarring on his eye from living outside. He is enjoying living inside in the air conditioning and heat and just needs a ‘furrever’ home to fully settle into,” the rescue said.

Clarion PAWS is located at 11348 Route 322, Shippenville, Clarion River Hill, between Scrap Happy and Clarion Electric. The adoption center is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

The center is closed Fridays and Sundays. More information is available online at www.clarionpaws.org, the group’s Facebook page or by calling (814) 229-1231.

Leah M. Anson posted an update on Novah to the group’s Facebook page.

“I’ve had a few people ask about Novah. Yes, she is still available for adoption through PPAR,” Anson said.

Theresa Weldon posted an update on Ace, the German shepherd, with an eye condition.

“Ace and I went to PVSEC for our second post surgical followup. He is doing as well as we could have hoped. In fact one of his eyes is producing too much goop!! So we have some new eye drops to try to prevent seeping infection,” Weldon posted.

Precious Paws is also looking for some scratching posts for its cats and kittens in foster care “to help teach them not to scratch on furniture.”

Precious Paws can be reached by phone at (814) 671-9827 or by email at AdoptPreciousPaws@gmail.com.

More information about the group and its low-cost spay/neuter program, SNYP, can be found online at pparfranklin.com or on the group’s Facebook page.
