Franklin’s bagged leaf pickup begins Friday

From staff reports

The City of Franklin street department will begin picking up paper biodegradable bags of leaves from residents starting Friday.

Residents may put their filled leaf bags along their front yard near the street for pick-up by the street division. Crews will pick up the bags on Mondays and Fridays through leaf season.

The biodegradable bags are available for purchase at many local stores, but they are not being sold at city hall this year.

Workers will use a vacuum machine to pick up leaves along city streets later in October. The weekly schedule of that work will be published in The Derrick and at www.franklinpa.gov.
