Franklin School Board handles several routine matters

Franklin School Board members handled some routine business at their meeting this week.

The panel voted unanimously to pay $3,340,868.33 in general fund bills from Aug. 23 to Sept. 23.

Victory Elementary’s boiler was unanimously approved to be refurbished for $65,600 by Combustion Service and Equipment.

Mobilcom radios and repeaters totaling $30,603 will be purchased with funds from an Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund grant following the board’s unanimous approval.

Kathryn Rihel was appointed deputy tax collector for Sandycreek Township.

The board also unanimously approved hiring Martin Aylesworth as a contracted school psychologist at a rate of $80 an hour, hiring Brooke Proctor as a third-grade substitute at Victory Elementary for the remainder of the school year, and hiring Amber Wolfgong, Sierra Lyons, and Brandy Cherry as paraprofessionals.

Several substitute workers were approved unanimously. They include teachers Kay Brockett, Miranda Dagres, and Stefanie Swartz, guest teacher Elizabeth Zabelsky, cafeteria workers, Elizabeth Dudzic and Penny Hawthorne, and paraprofessionals, Connor Heusel and Reilly Phipps.

Supplemental contract approvals include pit conductor Preston Yoder, musical costumer Darla Creighton, elementary girls basketball coordinator Ryan Justice, early bus duty supervisor Joseph Keenan, eighth-grade boys basketball coach Jason Rockwell, Central Elementary boys basketball coach Nick Billingsley, and softball assistant coach Michael Hanna.
