Franklin man charged after meth found in vehicle

From staff reports

A Franklin man is facing felony drug charges after police discovered 88 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle Thursday.

Franklin police said they were called to a municipal parking lot in the 1200 block of Liberty Street at about 10 a.m. for a report of a man in a vehicle who would not move or wake up when people tried to check on him.

Police said the man Clint Alan Donovan, 39 woke up after a few minutes and handed over his expired driver’s license which revealed there was a warrant for his arrest.

A search of Donovan’s vehicle produced a paper bag hidden under the driver’s seat that contained the methamphetamine and an unspecified amount of pills that were both packaged for individual sale, police said.

Police said Donovan also had $800 in his pants pocket.

Donovan was charged with four felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned Thursday and placed in the Venango County jail, unable to post $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled July 15 in Central Court.
