From staff reports

A Florida man was charged with homicide after the body of a Titusville man was found in the bed of a pickup truck, according to Corry state police.

State police said three people came to the Titusville police station on Thursday evening to report that Bradley Matthew Seay, 20, of Lakeland, Florida, had shot and killed Earl George Scroger Jr., 29, of Titusville, at a camp on Howe Lane, near Windfall Road, in Oil Creek Township.

The camp, state police said, is owned by Seay’s grandparents.

Police said they made contact with Seay, who agreed to come to the Titusville police station.

Police discovered Scroger’s body in the bed of the truck Seay was operating, according to state police.

Seay was charged with criminal homicide and arraigned Friday morning before District Judge Rita Marwood.

Seay was placed in the Crawford County jail without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, before District Judge Amy Nicols.

State police were assisted at the scene by Crawford County District Attorney Francis Schultz, Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell and Titusville police.
