Emlenton woman accused of child endangerment

An Emlenton woman has been charged with child endangerment after a four-year-old girl was found on a bridge Sunday.

The four-year-old girl was found on the Emlenton Bridge at about 9 a.m. and was taken into the care of Emlenton Ambulance Station where the child remained for about three hours, Franklin state police said.

Katie Planker, 24, who was responsible to care for the child and another four-month-old baby girl was found to have been asleep on a couch, police said.

Planker has been charged with one count of endangering the welfare of children- parent/guardian/other commits offense.

She was arraigned before district judge Patrick Lowrey.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26 at 8:30 a.m. in Central Court.
