Drake Well offers free admission for those in military

From staff reports

Drake Well Museum and Park will provide free admission to people who are serving in the U.S. military and their families as part of the Blue Star Museums initiative.

The 2021 program will begin Saturday, May 15, and continue through Monday, Sept. 6.

“Our museum is proud to be part of Blue Star Museums and to thank our military families for their service and share with them Pennsylvania’s cultural treasures,” said Melissa Mann, site administrator at Drake Well.

“Welcoming military families to explore our exhibits and park is important. This is often an opportunity for families to reconnect between deployments and museums are great places to make memories,” Mann said.

Blue Star Museums is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and participating museums nationwide.

The free admission program is available for those who are currently in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, as well as members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.
