Galaxy Federal Credit Union will hold its annual shred week in August.
The community event will be held during normal business hours at the credit union throughout the week of Aug. 10.
There is no fee for people to take their personal and confidential documents to the credit union, where they will be shredded.
Large secure bins will be available for consumers to deposit their documents.
This event is not meant for businesses and corporations, and it is not a recycling event.
Those who take documents to the site must take their empty containers home with them after emptying the documents into the bins to be shredded.
Anyone needing to enter the credit union building will be required to wear a face mask.
The credit union is located at 1313 Liberty St., Franklin.
