Cranberry roadwork to begin next week

From staff reports

A $2.7 million project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than four miles of roads in Cranberry Township is expected to begin next week.

Resurfacing work will be done on Route 257 from its intersection with Route 322 toward Seneca, near the route’s intersection with Innis Street.

More resurfacing work will be done on Route 322 from its intersection with Route 257 toward Franklin to the route’s intersection with Big Egypt Road.

Work will include milling and overlay and drainage, as well as updated ADA curb ramps, guide rail, drainage and pavement markings.

Nighttime work is planned for a portion of the project. No detour is anticipated with this project, though motorists may encounter traffic controlled by flaggers, according to PennDOT.

The contractor for the work is IA Construction Corp. of Franklin. The contract cost is $2,696,800, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

The project is made possible by Act 89, Pennsylvania’s transportation funding plan.

Work is expected to start Monday.
