Get excited, the University Activities Board (UAB) has a lot of exciting things planned for this semester. UAB is in charge of programming for the student body at Clarion University. Students in this organization are the people that bring you Campus Fest, Wingo and tons of other beloved activities that take place through the school year.
Their mission statement is, “to build community and involvement among the student body by extending the Clarion experience at a reduced cost.” The vision of UAB is to get students to want to stay on campus on the weekends and have programs that appeal to all crowds, by teaming up with various organizations to create personalization throughout the activities.
UAB is separated into several committees that all have certain tasks to make ideas for activities become a reality. The committees include CampusFest, Arts, Lecture, Collaboration Community Service, Multicultural, Public Relations, Recreation, Special Events, Weekend Programming and Gemmell Activities. All of the committees collaborate as a team to fulfill the mission statement and make the vision become a reality.
UAB holds weekly board meetings on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Gemmell Student Complex in room 246. The board meetings are open to the public and all are welcomed to join and become involved. To become a member of UAB is not a difficult task. Simply come out to one of the board meetings or drop by the UAB office at the Gemmell Student Complex, room 249, and speak to a board member about becoming involved. The next step would be to attend and participate in the meetings. The final step of membership is to attend the event that you helped put into action.
