Civil Air Patrol squadron to host open house

CLARION – The Civil Air Patrol Clarion Composite Squadron will be hosting a STEM Fair open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Clarion Airport. The event is open to all ages.

The fair will present interactive activities of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program such as model rocketry, flight simulators, remote control drones, telescopes/astronomy and cyber-security.

Those attending will have the opportunity to view and learn about model rockets built by cadets, try their hand as a pilot on a flight simulator, test out micro drones, learn about viewing the stars, and role play as a cyber security specialist to troubleshoot and secure a virtual computer system.

Those interested in or amazed by gadgets and hobbies related to science, technology, engineering and math should plan to stop in and experience some of the many activities the Civil Air Patrol offers to youth in the Clarion area.

Refreshments will also be served throughout the evening.

The Clarion Airport is located at 395 Airport Road, Shippenville, off of Exit 60 of Interstate 80.
