Building housing OC Giant Eagle for sale

The building that is home to Giant Eagle in Oil City is up for sale.

According to Bill Moon, broker of record for Gates & Burns Realty, the building has been listed for about three weeks.

Building owner Lester Bowen, a Florida resident, decided to put it on the market because “he’s an older gentleman looking to retire,” Moon said.

The asking price is $1.1 million, according to a classified listing in the newspaper. Moon said a lease price also could be negotiated.

According to an email sent to the newspaper from a Giant Eagle corporate spokesperson, the store will remain.

“A change in property ownership will not impact the terms of our lease agreement,” said Richard Roberts, of public relations firm Roberts Communications USA. “We have no plans to alter operations at our Oil City Giant Eagle, and look forward to continuing to serve the community.”
