Brookville police issue scam warning

Brookville police have warned the public about a scam where individuals impersonate law enforcement officers using spoofing applications to mimic local police department phone numbers and real officers’ names. These scammers typically request gift cards, payments for winnings, email accounts, and copies of driver’s licenses. Police advise anyone who receives such calls to contact their local police department directly or visit in person to verify the legitimacy. Brookville police can be reached at 814-849-1617.
